Can there be menu or out of game art, or no art at all?

Hi! I am really excited for this jam as I have always wanted to make a text only game. I just have a couple questions!

1. Are we allowed to have artwork just for the start menu, but the game is fully text only, or should there be absolutely no visuals whatsoever?

2. Can the game have out of game art? By this I mean, if I wanted to make a mock-up cover art (such as the project's itch.io thumb), or a .pdf game guide that includes some visuals but there is absolutely no visuals in the game?

Thank you!

As to your first question, no, the entire game (including menus, credits, instructions, etc) has to be text only.

Yes, if you have the skills and time to, please do go ahead and create artistic thumbnails and banners for it!

Okay, thank you so much!
