Really enjoyed the cutscene, gameplay was simple and easy to pick up.

Looks like a lot of work went into theming the levels of Hell.

The movement felt a little off to me, not sure why, maybe it was the fact that I am not used to movements with the mouse.

I couldn't see any power ups which for a Shmup is a real must.

Would have been nice to have the ability to skip the cutscene for when you are having multiple playthroughs.

Thanks! I only added health but I didn't really think about powerups, so maybe a lesser cooldown powerup would have worked. I considered adding a skip cutscene but ran out of time due to personal reasons. Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah it's hard to feature everything in a gamejam, I know I forgot to add a pause button in mine lol.

Yeah power ups in it would be really cool, are you looking to keep building on it?

I’ll definitely put out an update for this one as all the feedback has been helpful, and I feel this is one of my best games so far so it would be good to polish it :)

awesome! Maybe an option for controlling the game with the keyboard too, personally I don't like mouse controls on shooters.

But ultimately it's your vision so don't forget that.

Really like the story at the beginning definitely laughed at that! I think the use of the theme doesn't really feel like focal point of the game. in terms of gameplay I enjoyed it, it felt nice and simple and easy to pick up and understand. A couple of very very small issues are the shooting has acceleration which to me makes every time I shoot feel very sluggish and slow and the rats on the sides of the screen when they throw stuff it doesn't really feel like you have that much of a chance to dodge because your always going up which cause me a couple of deaths that felt like I couldn't do anything about them (maybe I just suck but you know). Now the art I think is definitely the highlight of the game! every area had a bunch of interesting stuff that corresponded with that specific layer of hell which I think is just genius use of your setting and added a lot of stuff to look at which I loved! cutscenes in general are not common in game jam games and I think the fact that they are here is a really good testament to what you as a game developer value in a game and I love it!

Thanks for your feedback! It might be a good idea to have bullets move constantly, and to lower the rate of the spears being thrown, or have them shootable. Glad you enjoyed it :D

Really cool game. The Story at beginning was a nice touch. Overall i enjoyed the game. 1 thing i think should be looked at is how the player can be pushed back, by time i was to 1st circle, only part of the player I could see has 2 pixels on top of the head. Collisions were a little harsh too. Well done.

Thanks! Yeah, there's a kill switch if the player ends up fully off screen, but that could be adjusted or the forced movement can be more forgiving.
