Interesting concept!I'll be keeping an eye on the evolution of this game! Just a heads-up, when I click "repair" in the Mech Bay, the game crashes. The game has potential to add battle effects and similar features in the future!
Thanks for the feedback! I didn't try repairing in an empty bay. That'll be fixed in the next version.
I'm looking forward to polishing features and adding sounds to get the vibe right for this game.
This game is surprisingly addictive, for being in such an early state. There's something fun and relaxing about managing a little team, and sending them out to battle, without having to manually control them. I could see this being insanely fun with a team morale mechanic, and more team management options! I'm actually pretty excited about the possibilities. I can't wait to see more!
That was really fun! I love the artworks and the nicknames for the characters. I liked figuring out which pilots and mech suits to use! The setting is super interesting, it reminded me of the Wasteland series or the Brotherhood of Steel.
Personally I think what would be cool for future versions would be more upgrades (and maybe a toggle for perma-death? 😈) I look forward to it!
It's really cool that you made this with pygame, mad respect. It's a shame so many antivirus programs seem to freak out with pygame games :/
Thanks! I'm glad the world intrigues you. I wanted to put more focus on the mechs, but ran out of time. It's been an idea that I've been wanting to make for a while. I'm hoping that I'll be able to focus on adding more to the mech side of the game in the coming months!
I understand the "scary prompt" windows and anti-virus programs throw, but you're right, it does hurt getting people to try out my games. I've been spending some time between jams to try figure out making a web version of the game. I think that would help encourage trying it out.
Yeah, from what I heard, encrypting the code has helped people evade antivirus, while open source programs get flagged? It's really counter-productive.
But the web version is a good idea in general, since so many people browsing itch.io are looking for browser games :D
It could be a really fun game to have open in another tab while auto-battling!
