Description of your game.
Here's our 2d platformer submission for the jam. Our idea was to have the player LEARN all the great tricks to jumping and platforming from a powerful wizard mentor. Naturally you then find him, and become the master or something like that. Featuring wonderful systems ranging from dialogue to breadcrumb pathfinding, shooting, object pooling, and more!

Really nice, good effort, the wall jumping was a bit fiddly but we enjoyed the concept and the player animation was nice.

It's clear that this game has been made with care and attention, with consideration of style, and the game-jam theme. I appreciate the bespoke character move-set.

I noticed that when you pause in-game, you get soft-locked.

Also, For a moment, it felt like I could use the game pad, but only the normal movement and jump is mapped. I guess that has something to do with the default input actions in Unity.
Edit: I figured out how to use the game pad.

Thanks for playing!

The game pad should be fully implemented, every input action is set up with both gamepad and keyboard inputs. Unfortunately I was only able to playtest with an Xbox one controller, so it’s possible other controllers may be causing errors. Sorry about that!

Hey, you're right! I didn't think to use the bumper buttons. I just assumed it had to have been one of the face buttons. That's smart how you implement the aiming system to work with both a pointer and an analogue stick. That to me is worth some bonus points.

p.s. I still haven't figured out how to navigate out of the menu if it's triggered in the game phase. I actually meant to say it's hard locking me, regardless of which input device I'm using, but such bugs are to be expected in a game jam. My game doesn't grant you the push ability if you've spawned from a milestone. An easy fix, but waiting now for the end of the voting before I update.

Nice art style to the game, mechanics are pretty solid! good choice with the music.

I got stuck at first on one of the jumping puzzles, holding two movement keys and space to jump in an upward direction I found a little tricky.

If you update, I suggest adding a health bar to the final boss.

The humor in the game dialogue is and the character design are good!

Good job! :)

Thanks for the review!

Getting a bit more polish on the boss fight is definitely one of the first things we’d consider doing if we were to take this project any further post-jam. :)

Currently it's a floating head :) It would be nice if you added a charged attack to the player :)
