That was good fun :)  Very pretty art style and the boss in the top left was creepy haha! I had the same issue as the other poster and kept getting stuck on walls which made the jump pack sections a bit difficult.

One change I might recommend though is that I know the map is a Castlevania Symphony Of the Night styled one but it might be good to have the option of having a smaller map on screen to the side like with Metal Gear Solid 1 for example!

Either way though awesome entry! :)

Great submission, really nice graphics and the genre was interesting and not expected. Metroidvania esque gameplay was pretty interesting to see here. I liked the jetpack.

First of all, the game looks great. The backgrounds are atmospheric, the enemies have personality, and everything is well-animated. Even the lighting is really effective and dramatic. It made me think of Ori and Hollow Knight, in a good way.

Level design is also clever. There are challenges, but I was usually able to find a way to progress.

Controls are also solid, with one important reservation. I kept getting stuck on walls. At first I thought this was leading to a wall-jump move, but if there is, I just couldn't figure it out. If there is no wall-jump, friction should be removed so the player can slide down.

Audio is also very high quality. However, I found that the story audio, which was intriguing and well-acted, was sometimes drowned out by "routine" audio ("Access Denied," "Escape Pod Locked"). In my opinion, story audio should take priority over routine audio.

Lastly, I didn't find the head up display entirely intuitive. The map was clear, and I understood the weapon display (punch, cryo, etc.), but the health and fuel displays were somewhat confusing. I wonder whether quantized displays (e.g., with a certain number of visible "segments") would be easier to understand.

Overall, very impressive!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm sure those changes can be made for the game.
