Thanks for the feedback! If you're having trouble seeing the whole game while it's embedded on itch.io, you can also try playing it here: https://benrosen.github.io/letter-threader/
I agree that the game would benefit from more/better instructions. Let me know if you have any specific ideas for how to make it more intuitive. Thanks again for the feedback. :)
It’s a really good idea. I can foresee myself revisiting this game as a regular brain challenge each day. However, I do have a couple suggestions for future development on the game.
It doesn’t matter if the letters I choose actually make a word, so I can get a high score pretty easily (I know I’m only cheating myself). But it would be rewarding to hit a submit button and be told “yes, the word you’ve chosen is a valid word”.
I’d love to have a high score board, whether that’s just my own scores or a globally ranked board.
I think your idea for a scoreboard is on the right track. I'm going to start by displaying a (local) all-time high-score next to your current high score while you're playing: https://github.com/benrosen/letter-threader/issues/30
If you have any other feedback or requests, I'm all ears. Thanks for playing!

Wow, thank you for the compliment and the constructive feedback!!
I am adding word validation as we speak and hope to have a fresh build deployed sometime soon (probably this evening): https://github.com/benrosen/letter-threader/issues/9
