I feel really stupid but I can't understand for the life of me what I'm supposed to be doing on the first level (cake). I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but as far as I can tell I've tried moving both the chef and the tiger into every single possible square.

edit: Oh I figured it out, confirmed I am indeed just really stupid haha! I tried merging them back together first thing, but I figured crossing paths would be good enough for them to collide, I didn't realize they'd need to end up in exactly the same square.

I think a tutorial would definitely help a lot, although many of the rest of the mechanics were more self-evident after I figured out the first step (although I haven't completed the latter levels yet). Seconding also that the keyboard was an issue. I don't have my keyboard set to qwerty by default and it took me a minute to sort everything out.

Other than the difficulty curve and want for a tutorial, the game feels really well-made. I'm giving you bonus points for your backwards dev diary in discord as well, because that was just brilliant!

Most of the levels were made on the last day with a very tight schedule, so balancing was the last thing on my mind. Definitely should have spent more time on a proper tutorial and a more gradual difficulty curve. I also only play using WASD on basically every game, so if someone doesn't remind me to also include arrow support, I just forget about it.
I'll try to fix the tutorial and arrow problems on the revised edition. Not sure how much I can do for the difficulty curve but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for playing!

Very good use of the theme. I was very confused about how the mechanics worked, but at the end I figured them all out through trial and error.

For example, at the first box stage I didn't know what I was supposed to do at all and was stuck there for quite a while. After a ton of retries I figured that the gap in the yellow wall was for sticking a character in there and then pushing the box towards the middle section so the two boxes end up on top of one another. You can solve this issue by making an easier box introductory stage where the boxes are already stacked, so player sees and understands that putting boxes on top of one another is possible and very important for solving puzzles.

Other than my problems with the difficulty, the game was actually really fun. Bonus points for making it in Java without the help of a dedicated game engine.

I really needed a better tutorial system in place, but time was really running out, and level making took a while. I'll try to have a better system in place for teaching mechanics in the revised edition of the game. Thanks for playing!

Nice Puzzle game ! The mechanics are really cool and fit the theme nicely.

I only wish there was an undo button to cancel your last move. I soft-locked myself quite a few time in the last levels with the boxes & had to restart the level (which can be a bit frustrating)

I would also have prefered using the arrow keys (usually wasd is for when you need to use the mouse at the same time)

appart from that. very solid game. great job :)

I tried adding a redo button, but just run out of time. And I also forgot about arrow key support, I only play with wasd so it just slipped my mind. I'll try to upload a revised edition as soon as the ratings are out. Thanks for the review!
