Did the link to download the game get removed? Looking at the other comments, I was really looking forward to checking this one out.
I planned to edit it due to a couple of typos, but it turns out I mistimed it, and I can't reupload for the till the voting ends.
Oh no! Sucks that there isn't a way to fix that >.<
I've put a link in the description to a pdf on my drive as a temporary solution. Sorry it's been a bit haphazard, first time using itch.io.
I fell in love with the setting for this as soon as I read it. It’s amazing how much flavour you’ve managed to pack into such a compact game!
Aside from some wording issues that might call for another proofreading pass and/or some GM fiat, the mechanics are solid and simple, as they should be for a lightweight campaign engine. The nested character options are fun, and I like their mix of mechanics, roleplaying boons and worldbuilding tidbits.
To be honest, I’ve never wanted to dive into a world and start adventuring so badly, so genuine props to you for that. (Though I suppose it doesn’t hurt that I’m a massive nerd for grunge sci-fi and retro futures)
Are all Checks "Skill Checks"? I think so but the word Skill is only used once or twice, just making sure I'm not misunderstanding. Does the GM dictate which Skill is required for the moment at hand, or is that more on the players?
Thanks for sharing!
Final say on what the subject of the check is comes down to the GM's decision, but it's good to talk it out a bit with the players. A GM could just have a check independent of any class skills or knowledge, but most checks will be based around class abilities and skills.
Looks really great! I love the atmosphere and am looking forward to playing it!
There is one instance where you say to roll 1d20 which doesn't look like it's meant to be there (since everything else is 2d6).
Good catch, thanks.
