I admit to being a little confused; I only got a visual novel, but there's apparently a gameplay element? Was there something I was supposed to do? Did I download the wrong thing? I feel about as lost as Koishi.

I'm utterly confused. This is complete madness. As expected from Saishoo, I guess.

I didn't find the fishing rod.

I didn't manage to swap books between 2 shelves (I'm assuming a bug), thus making it impossible to sort them.

I didn't get anything out of the QR code.

The only base64 I managed to get anything out of is the one from the itch.io game page and not the one you're told to decode. Plus, there's text telling you that the link was wrong.

I also had the (first) game softlock a couple times.

One of the few vn that made me actually keep going

Is the game still in development or is it completely finished? Regardless, its still a very solid game and I loved the visual novel aspect! The rock part is a *tad* bit confusing but it's still fun to walk around and interact with the objects scattered across the map.

This game is a crime against nature. Just what i'd expect from Saishoo.

The visual novel story itself is pretty cool though. Works upon the retrospective aspect of the theme by looking into how a past event occurred before the touhou games.
