I liked the exploration of Sakuya's backstory in this, it's a topic that comes up now and then but I don't often see anyone really delve into. Explaining some of the finer details was a nice touch and drives home how trivial most things are for her with just a bit of patience.
Well told story.
It's easy to feel sympathetic for Sanae and Sakuya as they tell their past.
I think the story and theme would be perfect if it emphasized Sanae's "living god" status during her part and showed what Sanae would expect out of this status. (I don't think I've seen it mentioned.)
Yeah, that's something I would've liked to expand on more. As a way to give more context as to what Sanae is feeling when she asks Sakuya about her past.
The idea is that, while she says she feels no regrets about abandoning her old life, she still ultimately feels guilty for leaving the people who cared about her behind, such as her parents. She is scared of the idea of needing to live with that guilt literally forever, though she doesn't explicitly say that. Expanding more on her state of mind could've made that clearer.
This was a really well written interpretation of Sakuya! I would've liked a bit more interactivity from a visual novel and character portraits would've been nice too, but I really liked the concept since Sakuya and Sanae are not the first two characters I would've thought of for "Immortality".
As far as I'm concerned this is just Sakuya's backstory in my mind now. Absolutely incredible job and wonderful writing.
immortality? wouldn't have it any other way
