I love the offbeat emphasis, instantly giving energy to the piece that makes it feel like a city rather than something smaller like a village. The chippy instruments and drums feel really smooth and I can’t help but bob my head along. You are able to do so much and add in interest with a simple 2 chord vamp, something that I think is pretty commonly done in town music when you want to find a balance between getting straight to the meat of the music while not sounding like a short idea that is repeated to exhaustion. I like how you kept the drum beat slower and let the melody carry the momentum. Overall, great work and thank you for sharing!

Thank you!

I've noticed that the 2 chord progression does get a bit repetitive after a few listens; I did actually try some other mid-sections but they didn't really fit with the overall track. Overall for a first jam I think that this was a great learning experience, and I appreciate all of the comments that help me to improve (via what people enjoyed and didn't).

Thanks again for the analysis, a second pair of ears always helps!

Very good song! It gets a bit repetitive but the instrumentation helps to keep it interesting, great job!

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll try and use this recommendation towards future songs, any bit of criticism helps me improve.

Thanks again!

I pretty much love many types of electronic music, and this is no exception, especially since I definitely get the Deltarune vibes you mentioned! You did very well, this really creates a vivid image!

Thanks so much! Glad I could convey the inspiration!

Yooooo this slaps. It has the feel of a town that depends on plants for it's tech, while also having the upbeat energy of sunlight

Developer

Thank you! I composed this in mind with the melody being upbeat and uplifting (alike plants in their prime). Glad to see that it doesn't go underappreciated in the final mix!

I imagine a city that has lost its organic side. We are close to cyberpunk where plants are a simple fuel to make the machines work.

There is a passage that I particularly appreciate it is from 2'20. The balance between the instruments is very successful during this passage. And my favorite part is from 2'40" to 3'00", the sounds are very well chosen. They have an industrial feel to them that sounds very good.

Thank you for the comment!

Ironically, my favorite part is also 2'18 onward when the buckets kick in,  really gives a break from the other chippy instruments

Thanks again for the nice words!

YOUR FIRST EVER JAM?? And you produce such a banger?! Damn, you make me jealous xD

Nah but really, I love the song! Fits nicely to a village, the quality is great, though I felt more of a 'technology' than a 'vegetation' vibe - makes kinda sense given that you took inspiration from a song called "A CYBERS WORLD?" xD.
The start was really nice, with actual town-sounds, and the music suddenly starting at 0:10 was truly mesmerizing! I first thought it was some form of pump I was hearing at the start, but it was actually... the beat!
Overall, a really sick entry. Good job!

Thank you for the generously positive comment, I loved your submission as well!

Yeah ironically, I understand how people see this as less photosynthetic and more technological,  guess that's what I get for doing the bucket / bottle sounds last...

After writing the main synth chords I went back and redid it to try and refollow the theme of an 'uplifting' city (alike how plants grow)! I'm glad that the catchiness has paid off, even with a surprisingly unintentional Moshi-Monster's-like shop break mid way through (1:57) hah.

Thanks for the comment, it doesn't go unappreciated! :D

I can feel the energy of the city here. It's a positive vibe. I love the way the kickdrum appears from the street noise and the bottles towards the end.

Thank you! :D
