Totally jammed throughout the whole song! Even though it was kinda hard to imagine a sunset town with the amount of element going on and off, I could see thing playing through a video game that has a sunset enviroment or ambient. Overall, loved the chiptune! Good job!

Sunset Town: My favorite moment was at 2:02 by far! This is when I heard the sunset theme fit in. Using the short chopped tones at the beginning make it feel like it’s daytime and as the song progresses, the notes lengthen such as a day drawing to a close where time seems to lengthen just as the shadows do while the sun sets. I am always a big fan of those who can make chiptune using the classic limitations of only 4 sound channels because you have to imply a lot of harmony. In the first portion of this track, I think you have an interesting melody and an interesting bass part, but they don’t always line up to create an implied harmony that is intuitive to the listener. My one piece of advice is to think about which bass notes you want to use to support your melody (for example, your melody outlines a major scale while the bass seems to be simultaneously outlining a minor triad which seems to clash). This is an interesting effect if intentional, but at the end, you have a very cohesive composition that I think if applied at the beginning as well would make this piece shine even brighter.

Did I imagine the town?: I think I did! I was imagining an Earthbound-esque village on a cliff overlooking a sunset with brilliant orange, pink, and red colors. I could imagine the sun setting and the sky slowly turning a darker blue as the piece progressed. Nice work and thank you for sharing!

Here is my honest criticism, I hope I do not come across as mean!
It is not bad, but I am perhaps not the best to judge for chiptune.

Some notes, like the one at 0:52 feel kinda out of place. At times I have trouble to feel the calmth and peace I would expect of a sunset-town, but it might be partly due to the chippy- and choppy-ness of chiptune that I am not used to! Around 1:13 and 1:27 I could feel the peace flow in a bit, I liked that. At 2:03, because there was no 'chippy' melody and just soothing major chords, I also felt that delight!

I ended up listening to it 3 times. The first time I did not feel any sunset-feeling, but I don't want to be too harsh as chiptune might both be challenging in this aspect, and I am not used to it. The third time especially, I did sense the sunsetty feeling! Though I can't say I am a fan, I think you did a great job, so well done!

Well, I'll take this in consideration for the future, thanks for the feedback.

Chiptune !

The last part is really really good. I love the music of Anamanaguchi. They use chiptune and real instrument. I had the same feeling with you composition. Dry chiptune at the beginning and more and more instruments during the music. Until the last minute where the chiptune is not the main instrument anymore.

Well done !
