Ninjack the Whipper - early access

My goal when joining this jam was to actually finish a game and publish it on itch.io. I often have a hard time staying motivated after the initial inspiration is gone (because I am a lazy bastard), but this time I finally pushed through and got something playable. Unfortunately, I spent too much time working on tools and tinkering with other stuff than making the map design pretty, adding new mob types and items etc. That is why the game feels a bit empty and short. But I'm gonna go with the model that every indie developer seems to use - i.e. EARLY ACCESS :) More content will be added in the future, I promise!

Anyhow, it was a great learning experience and I had fun. Hope you will try the game out!

Nice! Glad you pushed through and got this much done! Platformers are hard.

Hope you finish this one (or another idea) soon. Finishing a little game feels amazing!

Thanks! And yes, it felt really good to wrap it up in a playable state and release it as a complete game, even though it is thin. I've learned so much and I bet the next game I make in Pico-8 will be a much smoother ride.

My biggest problem is... I just need to learn to focus and stick with a single project all the way to the end. But these jams are a terrific way of helping with that. Btw, thank you for organizing the jam!

Yeah, best to try small as possible scope and finish it.

No problem! Was fun to do these.
