Interesting concept! I included it in my Toy Box Jam 3 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thanks so much for showing it on your video! I'm working on a little more of a tutorial intro now!

The game could use a help/tutorial, although I manged to figure it out on my own. I really like the pictorial menu's. The game froze before I could finish the level, although it seemed a bit too easy; the enemies don't attack? Or maybe it gets harder in the next levels?

Developer

Thanks for playing! You're right, one of the AI parts I didn't get time to complete was actually having the enemies attack your units, they just wander around randomly right now.

Very cool game! Reminds me a tiny bit of a turn based startegy game "Hero Academy," which also greatly limited your actions per turn. I would love to see this fleshed out with sounds and some more missions! It was very satisfying once I learned how to fight enemies. I think you have just the right amount of depth here.

The game did lock up on me when i tried to capture the castle in the southeast. A little sad, but i still had fun. Well done!

Thanks for playing and the feedback! Hopefully I'll have some more updates soon!

I really enjoyed this. It took a bit of a while to understand what was going on (who has time for lengthy tutorial in a game jam anyway?) but once I'd figured out what was going on it was a lot of fun.

It's interesting how you can only perform one action each turn, usually in games like this each unit performs one action per turn, so that was a different challenge and stopped the game from becoming really slow-paced once you had a few units out.

Kudos for pulling off a turn-based strategy game in two weeks, that can't have been easy. I'd love to see this added to post-jam!

Thanks for playing! Totally agree about the one action per turn, I've been thinking of changing that so you can take multiple actions but didn't get the time to implement that yet!

I'm not sure how the attacking works. There's the option to attack "position" but it looked like moving to an enemy killed it instead. Then when I tried to do the same thing on another enemy, the game froze.

Thanks for playing! I need to add some more detail to show what exactly happens in combat. And it looks like I've got a bug that completely freezes the game when there are two attacks back-to-back. Thanks for the feedback.
