Really like how the mechanics come together and the interaction between the anchors + sharks! Is it uarenteed that the anchor will hit a shark, or was it just chance on my end that it always happened? Presentation and sound were great too!
One small bug I found, was that I was able to go out of bounds. Interetingly, if I only went a small distance off-screen, I could come back, but any further thaan that and I was stuck somewhere and could never come back on-screen.
Thank you for your feedback.
The anchors and shark start randomly, and if the anchor hits the shark by chance, it destroys it.
It's not a bug. I forgot to check to keep the player's movement bound. There is a bounding box that removes objects that move too far out of the screen. It removes anchors, sharks, and starfish, but it also removes the player.
Quick fix incoming!
Very interesting to have to avoid elements that come from below and others that come from above. And congratulations on a great atmosphere :)
I managed to get 340 gold during my best game!
However, I had a little problem with the screen cropping. If I'm in full screen mode, I miss the bottom and top of the image. But if I'm not in full screen, I have less width. Honestly, it didn't bother me too much when playing. I played in full screen, and left full screen to see my score :)
Anyway, well done for this game!
Thanks for the feedback. I had that problem before posting game jams. I need to remind myself to set the build setting correctly. (I had a few months' break from game development.)
The fullscreen issue is fixed. Also, fixed sharks are more aggressive and swim towards you than away.
I died with 200 Gold. Nice and chill game. My favorite part was the crunchy sound effect when collecting starfish. Very pleasing.
