That was cool! I like that you’ve got time to include animations and menus
Thanks to all those who have voted and given feedback
There is still one day left before the vote, so I have included the upcoming update on my In Deevlopment page https://stealthness.itch.io/in-development. If you want to look at some improvements that will be added after the voting ends.
I really like the mechanic design you came up with - shots needing energy creates a nice trade-off for the player to decide is it more important to power the ship, or to remove a tar monster. Also like the volcano animation a lot!
Two pieces of feedback I have:
1) There is currently a text box in the top left of the screen that seems to serve no purpose, it simply reads 'New text'
2) Collisions were a bit wonky. Tar monsters would kill me well before they actually touched me, and I also found that I could leave the island and walk into 'space', as the island had no collisions to keep the player on it
Thank you for your feedback.
Point 1: I have added a health system for players in the upcoming update, which will be ready for upload after the voting ends. Players will now receive a set amount of damage instead of facing instant death.
Point 2: I will also be reviewing hitboxes. Currently, when the tar monsters spawn, they won't damage the player for about 2 seconds. This was a quick fix to prevent random instant death when they spawn directly beneath the player. Previously, there was no boundary, which allowed players to walk into the emptiness of space. This has now been fixed; if you venture too far out to sea, sharks will attack.
I hope you come back and look at the improvements when voting period ends
I like the sound and general aesthetic of the game. Shooting works well and the slime animation is nice given the time. Cool!
I like the shooting mechanic and the audio but the visuals could be improved (especially the main menu) Overall a very solid prototype :D
Thank you for the feedback.
I am working on improvements for when voting ends. I want to add at least a walking animation to the player and a few other bits that significantly improve the visual experience. As for menus, they bolted on his morning with just 30 minutes to spare. I was just happy they were working.
