Hello, a Godot generalist here.

I don’t have a specific PS1 experience, but here’s a game I did low poly graphics for: https://troglodyte97.itch.io/cozygamejam2024.
I know git and Godot pretty well so that should free some time on implementation if you decide to work together.

hmu if interested. (here or on discord: proti7)

Because of one more day to rate I could play again. The framerate really affects the speed of the gameplay. At 800 FPS I barely got to wave 10, while at 90 FPS I’ve had no problem with wave 30. Frame cap would be a basic fix that would help immensely. It is a gamejam though, so I get that not everything can be planned for. The graphic on the other hand are really pretty and everything is clear. I liked different abilities, and tarot was a nice panic button. For balancing I feel though that the cold snap could really use a buff.
Looking forward to what else you will cook!

I think the fact that the monster makes no sound until he’s literary next to you is terrifying. Teleportation was a cool gimmick, because of low visibility every time you use it you risk losing your orientation. Landmarks and the static map are a big helper though. My only complaint would be that sometimes you can teleport right next to the monster which results in instant game over.

it’s understandable, gotta put compromises somewhere to make it on time! I won’t be back before the ratings over though but I want to play it again after :)

The audiovisuals are great - it all feels so lively. I really like how many mechanics you put there, every level has a gimmick - maybe that’s why the game’s so short? Overall though great experience.

Okay, that gave me idea. I’ve tried a few things - the game was running at 44fps before, but with some tweaks I got it to hit 90 and now it’s working correctly. Sweet!

I’m not home so I only got my windows 11 laptop. Tried relaunching, redownloading but always the same result :?

After I click start there’s a castle and a wizard. Am I supposed to click something else? The tarot button spawns a sigil on the ground but I feel like there are supposed to be enemies to fight or something

At first I didn’t know how to clear instruments, as I couldn’t read the page description as the text is white. But harmonized the songs sounded pretty good!

Did you have to make the song so fire, I turned on the game on my phone just to listen some more

I threw myself off the stage more than the enemies, but enemy pushing mechanic was very enjoyable. Art is simple but clean, just wish the projectiles were more attention grabbing. Great job!

Wow, this doesn’t feel like a jam game but a full (yet short) release. Kudos

Quite cinematic experience. I liked the stealth mechanic, enemies seemed to react to your footsteps and then track you down.

I think it’s better, wouldn’t have anyone to play it with otherwise :D

Pretty cool twist on the battleship game. I like how well explained everything was. Powerups were a good addition as well, but flare could use a buff. Was this game intended for 2 players initially?

I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Most of the time was eaten up by adding functionality to the individual parts and getting the whole thing to move. But despite the horrendous code I put in, it does move.

Thank you for playing it! I just finished an update with some bugfixes and QoL features, just waiting for the rating period to be over. I’m also thinking of continuing the concept I’ve had at the beginning of the jam, but we’ll see.

Yo, this is one of my fav games this jam - maybe because I’m a sucker for sokoban’s. At first I was stuck because I thought you’re supposed to roll the snowman head on top of the rest, and not into the body. Sprites, due to palette limitations are simple, but with the animations they are nice to look at. The snow packing and snow melting added more depth. The ice was my bane though :d - last level took me like 30m, somewhat due to a bug where you slide into a snowman piece the beetle gets stuck and twitches for some seconds before you’re able to restart. But overall very enjoyable experience.

Hey, that actually was pretty cool! I liked the particle effects and destruction you put in, and the sliding waterfall and hidden buttons were neat ‘aha’ moments.

What is there feels really polished, I see that you spent a lot of time on the animations for example. Curious how this will turn out with more development time!

That was so cute! Really unique idea with good execution

Thank you again. This is an oversight by me - Godot should’ve compiled the shader on load, but that’s an easy fix.

Hello, thank you for playing! Is the game chugging when you fire for the first time, or every time you shoot?

Screenshot (727).png My times. It was fun to find skips and improve records :D

Thank you for trying it out! Building will probably the next area I’ll try to improve, I had some ease of use ideas

That was probably the most difficult platformer I’ve played, but the levels are well designed and some are puzzles in themselves. I still have the rhythm of the last level playing in my head.

That was cute! I liked the audiovisuals a lot. Ending was an outlier but maybe that’s good, more memorable this way.

Fun mechanic, puzzles were well designed. ‘Next level’ button causes an error in some levels, but still works from level select.

Very intense game, fans in my pc turned into air conditioners.

I liked it, just wish it was longer! The sprites and chiptunes are very well made.

It’s difficult, but fair. I liked shattering snowmen into a million pieces! Managed to get 790 score.

That was fun! I liked how the levels themselves changed, and levels are short so it’s not a big loss even if you fall.

I remade the shader, you should be able to see what’s happening now (hopefully)

Very chill game. Btw how are the percentages calculated? I can’t get over 99%

image.png I’m not sure if there’s more, but I felt like Grinch while playing it!

I liked that the fish synced to music, whole aesthetics in general. The first time I clicked ‘play’ the game crashed, but maybe it’s just fault of the itch app

I liked the atmosphere and the visual storytelling, managed to get jumpscared once or twice.

Thank you for feedback! I tried to play with silhouettes a bit to improve it… but the problem is that the shader eats up all the small details. I’ll play with it some more for maybe 2.0 version.

Grałem sam ze sobą, ale koncept jest fajny! Stalaktyty i strzały na mapie pomagają urozmaicić pływanie. Backgroundy też są spoko.

I could’ve guided better 😅 In the city, there’s an empty storefront that can randomly appear (walk forward and check corners). In the next level climb up and up and drop down. After looking up and down and you’ll land in the next one… down there it’s pretty straightforward.
