once i got it i got it. I wish there were extra points for shooting them in the dark where you make a right "guess." fun game!
Thats a good idea, it would also fit very well with the theme. Once this jam is over I want to implement all of your suggestions.
Took a bit to figure out what i was meant to be doing, simple, fun and well made. Good job!
It took a little bit to understand what to do, but after I did, it was very addicting!
I also love pico-8
Nice Game !
Maybe adding a tutorial might be good , i took me some time to figure out the game .
Really game though , always impress by the pico 8 .
Really good job on this one :D
I really enjoy the artstyle, it's very simple but it does the job! Same goes for the sound design and gameplay, its simple but fun.
Only thing I'd like to see is some sort of tutorial / intro (perhaps I missed that?). It took me some while to figure out why I couldn't pop some of the balls and how I could switch between the needles. Nevertheless, cool game (I got a highscore of 25 by the way ;) )
After this jam ends I think I will work on the gameplay explanation stuff since this was a quite recurrent issue.
I didn’t want to add a proper tutorial because one of my main objectives was to make gameplay speak for itself, but maybe making the player press the change colour button to start will solve the problem.
Btw thanks for playing!
(Opinion of the first build)
The art (for now) is so minimal but it works. It is clear and the colors are nice.
In the tutorial screen I didn't notice the letter X, so I didn't understand what to do at the beginning.
When I understood it, it was simple but interesting. A highscore game suitable for a jam like this.
Now I must clarify that this is my personal opinion.
The only real problem I have with the game is that using the arrow keys to rotate the character is not comfortable at all.
I would recommend using the mouse to control the direction or having the character stand still in 3 directions (relative to the arrow keys)
Again, it's my opinion. I don't know what others will think.
Oh, also a little text at the beginning explaining it would be nice.
Good job, with some sounds and better controls this game would be very cool.
Thank you! Im going implement some of your stuff in my final build.
