I loved it!
Except for the part where I could not find the exit, at all... It was crazy. Loved the reference, well done polished animations/graphics/sound. Just couldn't get out... So sad.
Great work!
loved watching spongebob as a kid and I’m glad you made a game based on it! I love how you went with a maze style game but with many different mechanics, it was pretty cool. Maybe try entice the play to collect the conch at the start if they need it later 👀 other than me sucking at platforming and getting annoyed it was a great game! Check out my playthrough by skipping to 7:50 on the link below 😊

Loved watching your Let's Play RobsonRages! Glad you enjoyed the theme and mechanics, and yes that platforming section is definitely difficult so don't blame yourself! There is another path you can take to find the club without having to jump over the spikes, just make sure you have the sword... Hope you give it another shot! Thanks for playing!
Ooo interesting, I’ll definitely be playing it again to try complete the maze! Excellent work man😊
Good game with excellent visuals and awesome sound! Nicely done!
Thanks securas! Appreciate that compliment! The visuals were done by Wes and Zach, and the music was by Thor (yes, that's really his name!)
Thor?!?!? Uau! That's a power name with an awesome background :) Does Thor have a link to his work?
Absolutely! Check out his work on Toothgrinder Labs! Appreciate you asking!
Oh uau! He's not kidding around! Amazing work!!
I really liked this game; was a fun and interesting take on the episode. I wasn't able to actually beat it, though, as I got really confused on the platforming part. I didn't really understand what the sign about super speed meant. I tried using the conch shell, but it didn't seem to do anything, and I couldn't jump far enough. Checkpoints would've been really helpful. It also took me a little bit to realize I could break things, and even with those large things (I have no idea what they were) I'm still not sure. Sometimes they seemed to be breakable, but other times not.
Certain platforms were also a little weird. On the ones by the spikes, it seemed like you were inside the platform rather than standing on top of it. Invisible walls around the actual walls were also a problem at some points, and sometimes prevented me from fitting through a path that looked like I should be able to go through. Overall, this was a fun game, and there was a lot to explore.
Thanks Gamer Kai! We appreciate the compliment and the feedback. Some of the issues you mentioned should be addressed in the most recent 3.1 update, but if you still encounter bugs, please consider submitting an issue on our Github page! We'll review each one for the next release! Thanks again for playing!
Really cool, one of my favorites in this jam! I didn't reach the end on first try (I'm really bad at first-person jumping) but I think I'll come back :) (Maybe campfires could serve as checkpoints for hopeless people like me?)
Thanks for playing madve2, that means a lot! We definitely considered that feature, but had to cut it to submit in time. We'll consider adding it in future releases for sure!
Cool game! I love the hidden paths and all the different ways you can get around. I was confused at the end that I could cut down that big branch and wondered if I missed something. I did finally notice the "X" and realized I could cut it and continue. Maybe just something making that more obvious.
Great job, really enjoyable!
Thanks atolVerderben! We're proud of the level design too, which was done by our very own Zach Kolman. Don't worry, you weren't the only one to be confused by that. We've changed the colors and collision of those vines so it should be just a little bit more obvious. Thanks for the feedback! If you find anything else, send us an issue on our Github page here: https://github.com/leohlim/KelpMaze/issues.
not a bad rendition of a spongebob game, or indeed the episode your portraying :) but like @niadocraz has mentioned, i too kept losing mouse control upon death forcing a task manager end game and restart. This completely killed the game play for me,and i fear this bug may sadly let your game down. :(
Thanks for playing Chasersgaming! Sorry to hear about your issue, but that has now been resolved in version 2.0. You can check it out on our release page here.
I would advise you to add the files directly on the download button so it's faster to play it and not get lost in the process.
About the game itself I found the play button to not be working properly, I don't know if it's loading or just broken. If it's the first one then telling the player would help. I find the attack distance to be too close, extending it a bit would feel better. Then I got hooked and the mouse didn't work so I couldn't restart the game.
Thanks for your feedback niadocraz! We heard your issue with the game over screen menus, and implemented a fix in our new version 2.0 release. You can find it here. Hope you give it another shot!
