  • This is a great project! With some more work and some sprinkling of enemies that maybe fire at the player, a tiny splash of backstory and some additional weapon types and this would be a solid arcade experience! I'd also recommend making your Rigidbody use interpolation and track the player position in late update to avoid the stuttery motion that happens when you move. Great work and congrats on finishing.

Done quite well within the submission time! Nice job putting in some polish into effects, I like that when you kill enemies they turn into chunks of red. The WebGL canvas is set oddly, it's width should be smaller and you shouldn't need to use itch's fullscreen if properly set as you can use the other button automatically there. If you were to update the game, look into having the sprites move more smoothly as rn there's a lot of jitter, the camera is smoothed out nice though :) Ammo being a bar as it is now is a bit strange for shooting bullet sprites, I'd much prefer an alternative that shows a numerical amount better, same goes for health, I'd prefer something like hearts, and health where it only takes something like 3 hits to die so I can make use of souls more often. Very good project to build upon, lots you can do with it, it's interesting that it's a dungeon crawler type with more of a space shooter movement type, I'd lean into it more and see what you can come up with.

The smoothness of the controls with the innertia makes it a very pleasant experience !

Too bad there isn't more ennemies, or a backstory, bosses to fight and different levels, weapons upgrades ect...

It becomes boring after few minutes, and imo this game would be worth some extra work to make it somehow complete with a lot of elements !

Got 104 pts before losing haha. I get an error when losing that says: "RuntimeError: memory access out of bounds at https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net..." D:

That's a pretty big bug haha, I didn't even get that far in testing to even see the memory leak! Thank you for playing and for your feedback, im glad you enjoyed it.

Slaying hordes from this zoomed-out, top down view and grabbing their drops - this makes me think of Vampire Survivors! The movement and aiming was fun and functional, though I didn't know where to spend my souls after ~50 kills. It would have been nice to tell the player they can reload with R. At first, I thought the green bar was stamina and that it would fill up gradually. I like the idea of including the circle filling up in the UI to indicate the cooldown of shooting. The blood effects on hitting the enemies works nicely to sell the impact of the hits. Nice job!

thanks for the feedback! My original plan was to add far more content in the terms of new items to buy but I didn’t have enough time to add anymore, I think I will add more if I have time after the jam. And you’re right I was supposed to put controls in the description but forgot, that is now fixed! Thank you for pointing it out!
