  • This was an excellent entry! The puzzles had a good difficulty curve and I was able to progress through the entire game. There was some difficulty in getting the blocks to work quite how I wanted them to, and some occasions where a collision occurred without it looking like it, but that was a minor inconvenience. I hope to see this expanded. Good use of the themes!

Feedback:

  • Funny robot, jump animation would be cool
  • I'm missing sfx and a bit of music :)
  • Nice game mechnic with the melting, I think there is lot more that can be done with it
  • What's level 7, a mean joke? ;)
  • Level 9 & 10 are essentially the same
  • level 12 is super close to make it
  • There is a nice progression of the level, they are getting more difficult
  • I feel like something is missing, maybe some game mechanic so that the player needs do more timing. So first preparing the blocks and then time them together some how?

An interesting puzzle platformer!  I'll admit that it's a bit janky, but I did appreciate that this game embraces its jank for the sake of puzzle design.  That meant that some levels were *really* unintuitive to solve, but once I understood the mechanics of the ice blocks and how they worked things did click a bit.  Some of that jank did bleed into making some puzzle solutions a little bit annoying to actually execute, but I was able to complete the whole game.  I'd definitely be interested in seeing an expanded version of this game with more mechanics!

Thank you for playing! I agree there is a fair amount of jank and puzzles I didn't quite get to. I didn't have that much time for the jam, but wanted to submit something. The major issue I couldn't figure out was the movement of the blocks. When the code referenced just the block the player collided with, nothing would happen. I had to change it to reference all blocks just to work at all. I will get around to fixing this issue and I have some draft levels that weren't completed involving springs, and external fire sources etc. Hopefully the game wasn't too frustrating in it's current state!

I didn't find it frustrating! I actually found some of the jankiness a bit charming, if I'm being honest.  Even though it was unintuitive at first, it was still interesting to figure out the rules!
