Is it permissible to mix a small element of V20 lore with V5 lore?

Hello! In our game, my partner and I plan to explore blood bonds with a Caitiff thrall that is later revealed to be Tremere. In V5, House Tremere has crumbled, leaving the remaining Tremere vampires unable to form blood bonds. However, our Caitiff Tremere was never formally bound to the Inner Council of Seven, and was Embraced before the events of V5. As we understand it, only Tremere vampires that were bound to the Council are unable to form blood bonds, not Tremere-embraced Caitiffs. In V20, the Tremere are more susceptible to blood bonds, needing only two draughts of the regnant's blood to become enthralled. This element of V20 lore is significant in our current draft of the game. We have done research and continue to do so,  but have not found anything specifically reneging on this V20 information. Considering the rules of the game jam and our storyline so far, is it permissible to intermix this small element of V20 lore with current V5 lore? Thank you!

Your protagonist can be a Caitiff with Tremere sire, but without Tremere bane. V20 element of being "more susceptible to form blood bonds" can be easily interpreted as a regular flaw, like Bondslave or Bond Junkie (exact mechanics can be changed depending of what your story needs). Hope that helps!
