Welcome to another Week Sauce game jam! As you know Week Sauce is not really a monthly jam, but more of a work on a project for a few days without stressing about schedules” deal. However, we do have a monthly (totally optional) theme in case you need help getting the creative juices going. For February the theme is…

♻️ Remake a “Terrible” Minigame

What do we mean by "terrible"? Well, that's up to you. Maybe you are the only person that got stuck in that puzzle of joining the dots, or the only person that doesn't even know where to turn the controller on that Wario minigame… Maybe everybody else thinks it's great and that just makes you hate it even more. We don't care! If it was terrible for you, this is your chance to show those lazy devs how it should be done!

We usually vote on themes in our Discord, but this time around I decided on this one unilaterally. Why? Because I wanted to LOWER OUR STANDARDS for participation even more than they already are! First, you are remaking a TERRIBLE game, so anything you do is easily gonna be better. Second, REMAKE DOESN'T MEAN BETTER, so you know, you can make it worse if you want; that also works. Third, it is a MINIGAME! You don't need to go all out remaking a full action RPG of monsters that fit in your pocket, a crafting survival sandbox game made of giant cubes, or Starfield (I wish that was a joke and not something someone proposed). This month, the stakes could not be lower. And that's the way we like it.

If you want to chat about your take, are looking for help or for a team, wanna vote on next month's theme or share your day to day progress, join our Discord. Did you make a game with this theme but finished it past the due date? No problem! Get in touch and I will send you a link to upload it.

Thanks again for joining us, and have fun!
