New game plan

Brief summary-

This new game (name TBD) will be a tower defence game where the player works for a defence company that has recently been purchased by a mysterious person and their colleague who is your boss. Your task is to protect a variety of pride parades from being attacked. Whilst this is happening players will have to balance keeping their family, most importantly their other half, happy or Doing a good job at work.  

 

Gameplay-

Gameplay will be split into three separate types.

  • The main tower defence section of the game.
  • Interactive, possibly FMV, cutscenes with your boss.
  • A somewhat interactive story based around you and your family.

This section of the game is exactly what it says on the tin.

This part of the game will feature a duel screen computer setup with one screen showing gameplay and the other showing the games User Interface (UI). Players will start the round by putting down the weapons that are going to by used.

Weapons will include:  

  • A Mr. Snuggle hugs launcher- A weapon that is a reference to the game Not for broadcast. This weapon throws the infamous fictional toy into your enemies.
  • Panic! Attack- A tower full of people lobbing Panic! At the disco CDs at the enemies
  • A dinosaur- because dinosaurs are cool
  • Other weapons TBC

This section of the game will feature some interactivity and may feature FMV if I am able to figure out how to get it working in Unity. These will be at the end of each Tower defence level and depending on whether the player successfully completed the level or not the players boss will be either somewhat happy and open towards the player or will get annoyed and angry at the player and will Fire them if they get too many failures on the tower defence section. A large majority of the game’s story will come from the player having to piece together information from their interactions from their boss as well as information that they can get from the internet whilst on their breaks.

 

This section of the game will start at the beginning of the game with a bare bones character creator where they get to select their name and what their character Identifies as. Then when they finish the tutorial which will be framed as your first day on the job. Depending on which options you choose in these sections this will impact the outcome you get.

 

Goals of the game-

The main goal of the game is to complete the Tower defence sections in each chapter successfully. The secondary goals will be to either establish a good relationship with your boss or your family or both.

 

The Target audience-

This game will be aimed at a more mature crowd mainly people 18 and over. This will be due to some of the language and themes of the game.
