Marked at 4 stars only because the save function did not work

Developer

I hope it wasn't too annoying and i will fix it later. Glad you enjoyed it.

Good game, enjoyed playing it, could do with a few more hazards to navigate.

Developer

I completely agree, exploring can feel empty sometimes so more dangers wouldn't anyone (well maybe the turtle). I hope it was not to boring and thanks for playing.

Really good game, good progression and play-ability - can tell the creator spent a good fair amount of days creating the game. however, i don't think save and load is working properly so a good place to develop.

Developer

Thank you so much, I didn't know it wasn't working until you told me, it was working but after checking it now i can see i made a mistake in the code which broke the load functionality. I will fix this when the jam is completely over so big thanks for letting me know.

Great little game, really enjoyed it. The Youtube trailer really helped in navigating and explaining the game. Similar in graphics to indie games - and some of them aren't the best.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and felt that a video was needed to give a little bit of explanation and I know it can be difficult to play a game when there are so many to test in a game jam so i made the game-play trailer.

Developer

If you dont have enough time to play then check out this short gameplay video / trailer. Thanks.

Really cool idea, and the overall feel is quite good.  A postprocessing pass might have made it pop just a little bit more, but it felt good to play

Developer(+1)

Completely agree and will look at post processing if there is time on my next jam since visuals can help a game go a long way. Thanks for checking it out.

Great little game, and I loved the progression, would like to have seen more enemies, rated 5 star due to looking at the credits I presume only one person worked on this in just 48 hours, great work. Hope to see more.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for checking it out. It took a lot of coffee but I got there. I also wish i had made more enemies and in general more hazards to the player but time really wasn't on my side. If i continue this game i will expand on the enemies. i'm glad you liked it.

thank you!

Developer

Glad you liked it and I will check it out right now.

I love the art style and the calm Christmas music. I wasn't sure what the middle icon at the bottom means when an enemy hits you since you don't die when it reaches 0 but overall really cool game and you can win which is a bonus.

Developer

The middle icon was armour which would continue to break until it was gone, when it was 0 the player would take more damage but i should have made that more clear. Originally the circle was meant to be a shield icon but i ran out of time to draw a shield. Glad you had fun.

Really atmospheric. I  liked the art style. The controls didn't work the way I expected (I think it would be more intuitive for W to be forwards, regardless of what direction you're facing, like classic GTA) and when I died my inventory didn't reset. Still showed a lot of good potential!

Developer

Controls are incredible important and need to feel intuitive so thanks for making me aware. Also I should have made the punishment for dying more obvious. The punishment was funds would be taken as payment and the more you die the more you pay. The resources save but there is a limit to how much you can stock up before having to cash in the food. It become more difficult to get funds as you play so dying is a huge loss later. Thank you for letting me know that i need to convey to the player to punishment. I hope you had fun.
