Despicable to be asking money for stuff made by AI

(+5)(-21)

Adapt or get off Earth.

(+13)(-8)

Nah, that's what the AI prompters should do

(-1)

If we all "adapted" we would swiftly live in a world where every piece of art around us is an algorithmic rehash of the last original human ideas that were published X years ago.

(1 edit) (+11)(-13)

You're aware that this is a game, right? You can create an image using AI, but can you make a game that has a concept and good mechanics, using the images you create?

Moreover, this developer recreates his own drawings using AI.

Ignoring all this and writing this comment is quite a despicable behavior.

(+2)(-2)

It's a game?!  Oh, thank God.  I thought it was a ham pie.

(+1)(-1)

dev should be commended for the effort of making a video game, and simultaneously condemned for soliciting money using unethical tools (trained on unpaid/uncredited artists and actively supplanting artists' roles in projects like this)

If this dev is simply "recreating their own drawings using AI" then why is this fact not disclosed in any of the marketing? Your argument would hold water if they detailed their process and showed how they only use it to glitz up their shading or whatever. Given what the art actually looks like and the lack of reference for what the creator's art looks like without AI, we shouldn't assume they've done any more than give the AI a pose and rough character design to work with. The visual assets created are still unambiguously the product of AI generation.

(+5)(-14)

Same old same tired argument from the Luddites. The guy used AI to augment his own original artwork.

(+11)(-7)

Calling people "luddites" for wanting art to be made by humans just makes you look incredibly foolish

(+3)(-1)

How is this guys art not made by a human when he had the talent to create the original sketches. Your argument against AI art is just plain foolish in this context!

(-1)

is there a place where we can see the original sketches and judge this argument for ourselves?

cuz it looks to me like AI's involvement in this project at all is consistently and conspicuously omitted from all marketing

Does it even matter? Do the many you use DAZ3d or the like put that in their marketing? Who cares.

(+1)

that is one hell of a false equivalence

(+1)(-3)

I have to wonder if you've even looked into what Ned Ludd is or you're just parroting hearsay.

(+2)

Have you looked into what the definition of a Luddite is?

They protested against manufacturers who used machines in "a fraudulent and deceitful manner" to replace the skilled labour of workers.

(-4)

Parroting hearsay it is.
