Hey Hapshant, thanks for taking the time to post.

Heroes of Adventure is a constantly evolving system as I continue to playtest and tweak this along with an improvement in my own layout and presentation skills. In terms of the key thinking behind version 3.

  • I wanted to streamline and rationalise the system to make it as easy as possible to play.
  • I definitely wanted to streamline the character creation system (the current ABC, Ancestry, Background and Class choices with fixed starting benefits mean characters can be created in 5 minutes).
  • I wanted to introduce the 'inspiration' system to give players a simpler and more flexible way to use spells/abilities.
  • General layout and presentation improvements.
  • Reverted to some classic names (Elf, Dwarf). HoA is a homage to classic fantasy adventure games I wanted to revert to that theme.
  • Will definitely be revising the core rulebooks (Players, Referee, Monsters books) not sure on the supplements yet.
