On Linux, this happens, too. Additionally a text editor pops up with the message:
I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.
While loading <renpy.display.im.Image object (u'spells/demon_idle.png') at 0x7f83be0d7fd0>:
IOError: Couldn't find file 'spells/demon_idle.png'.
and a taceback.
