Interesting concept! The gameplay sounds like a creative use of a fairly simple core mechanic. I would be concerned about making sure the player has a sense of control over their trajectory as that could become quite frustrating. Tonally it sounds like your narrative could be quite dark despite the relatively silly nature of tossing yourself around with a giant trash bag, so I would keep an eye on that. Personally, I think it sounds like you’re focusing more on the concept of insurmountable odds than “Changing the Story” so I would consider adjusting to be a little more optimistic.
