This game is excellent, and that’s true even before you start playing: you can understand the whole concept of the game and what you have to do just by looking at the menu. That’s top notch game design. Then you have a tutorial stage explaining the main mechanic and, while it has a bit of text as a guidance, that’s only a nice addition, because even without the text it’s pretty clear how the game works. Of all the games that I’ve played so far, this is undoubtedly the one that gives the best feedback to the player without barely using any text, which is something actually really hard to achieve, so bravo.

Apart from that, the art is really beautiful and charming, very pleasant to the eye. It’s nicely detailed, the colors are well chosen and the bulbs have their little personalities both when they are turned on and when they are turned off. And the music creates a cozy ambience that makes it quite relaxing to play, which is fitting, given that the puzzles lend themselves a bit more to the easy side.

Also, the game has a great amount of content taken into account that is made in one week, and it even includes a little post-game with some interesting stages, so it feels very rounded and complete. And of course it’s well polished.

Overall, there’s barely any criticism that I can make to this game, it’s brilliant (pun definitely intended). But, if I were to point out an aspect that could potentially be improved, that would be those stages where you have to lead a lot of bulbs to the exit, because the first ten or twenty bulbs all follow the exact same strategy and it really doesn’t matter if there is one or there are twenty. The actual challenge in those stages is how to guide the last one or two bulbs to the exit without them turning off in the process, so the fact that there are a dozen other bulbs before them instead of just one or two doesn’t change anything at all: in my opinion, it just adds a bit of visual overload without bringing anything valuable to the table in return.

But that’s a very very small criticism when the rest of the game is so well done. Congratulations to the whole team for creating such a rounded experience. =)
