Beautiful game. The light effects help give it a lot of atmosphere, the music fits perfectly with the general mood and the Serenians are too cute. I also like the mechanic of coupling the inhabitants of Serenia to the main character, because the more you adhere to, the harder it becomes to progress in the levels without losing anyone, and I think that alone can make for a nice challenge (specially if there were, for example, a minimum amount of Serenians that you need to gather in order to reach the next level). Also, I don't know if it's done on purpose, but the fact that the lonely wanderer has to adhere to Serenians as a way to make friends with them and then share with them a part of its journey is conceptually very interesting.
On the other hand, where this game suffers (and I believe it suffers a lot from it) is in the control scheme. I know it's intentional, but I don’t think it really works. In my opinion, the controls in a game should always be as intuitive and pleasant as possible, and the difficulty should come from other aspects. If a certain control scheme doesn’t feel natural or doesn’t contribute to make a game satisfying to play, then I believe it should be rethought and reworked (although that's just my humble opinion, of course).
Still, I value a lot that people think out of the box. There would be no innovation if no one took risks and dared to give steps that others haven’t given. So kudos for that and for the overall presentation of the game. =)
Oh, and I might try to beat the whole game, although I'm not sure I'll succeed in that. xD
