ftr i actually really like the bullet spray it forces you to actually run up close to the enemies to get those meat shots right in their face. Maybe you could implement a damage fall off mechanic where shots super close do double damage or whatever.
one more note sorry did you make this before the actual game jam? it just doesn't fit the theme like at all.
