Huge Ace Combat fan (if pfp doesn't give it away already) so this was right up my alley. And its really fun, I like it! Of course its quite janky but for the most part I enjoyed it a lot!

However I will say I think that mission 1 and 2 are way too long than they should be. They sort of dragged on for a bit too long, and it didn't help that movement is kind of slow. I wish there was some sort of acceleration system like Ace Combat so you could get around faster. And controls were very awkward, it feels like a game that should be played with a controller if there was any support.

Not to be all negative though, you nailed the feel of Ace Combat for sure and when you got the hang of controls, combat does feel really fun. I like the 3d models as well and neat mech designs!

Overall very good!

Hey thanks for playing. Yeah a fellow Ace combat fan! I just noticed the Galm patch on the pilot in your pfp. Off topic to the jam but do you play on PC? I play Ace combat 7 on PC but I went kinda hard in PvP. As in I'm one of those guys who can fly backwards lol. So idk how it'd be if we were to 1v1. I'm far from being top dog in AC7 PvP, but I'd say I'm kinda good at the game talking about the player base as a whole. Just saying cause I don't wanna seal club or something haha.

I digress. Aside from Ace Combat, the Armored core series was also a big inspiration for my game. I see considerable overlap between both fanbases, myself included. I actually found Ace Combat through Armored Core players talking about it haha. Not quite sure what you mean? There is a boost system in the game originally even from when I first submitted it. Left shift while moving to boost. There's also a quick boost with left control + direction to gain a sudden burst of speed for dodging. If you played the whole game without using either, then the energy bar on the left must've seemed pointless to you haha.

I would've made a tutorial mission with controls and game mechanics/systems, but no time and I feel like most players would just skip a tutorial anyways.

No, I play it on console sadly, only ever played the older ones on pc through emulation. Either way though, I'm kind of more of campaign guy. I never actually touched the multiplayer yet, though I did plan to but just forgot.

Anyway, I probably should have clarified, I did use the boost constantly but I found it ran out way too quickly and getting around from A to B just felt slow because of constantly boosting, then waiting to recharge, then boost etc. Maybe it just a me issue but that's what I meant.  I definitely couldn't imagine playing without it lol, I would have given up halfway through the first mission otherwise.
