Thank you Synlyfe. The Railroad track is supposed to be pensive, the desolation wroughtt upon the west by trying to develop it and the people who gave their life to do so, aiming to mirror the run down streets the protagonist lives in. Danger could certainly be lurking, hidden away - actual, non metaphorical ghosts of the railroad perhaps? We hear their voices hum, still singing the worker tunes they had to sing back then to stay sane and in rhythm.
