• The entire menu except for "New Game" looks disabled, and since the arrow keys didn't work, and my controller didn't work, I figured options wasn't implemented yet.
• I use Nintendo Switch Pro Controller via Bluetooth.
• It seems you are correct, Steam prevents every other application on my computer (including controller properties) from seeing input from the controller… No idea why… So I have to log out of Steam in order to use the controller.
• On Switch, A is button 2, B is button 1, X is button 4, and Y is button 3… this is very, very annoying… I do not know any programs to globally change button layout except for Steam; but that only applies to Steam games. The NSPC also has a button 15 and 16, but I can not find them.
• I did eventually play the game, but I can't get past the first miniboss.
Thank you for your assisstance. WASD is… weird for me… Despite it being a very common button map, I usually use the arrow keys when using a keyboard, since the games that use WASD have a second bind to ↑←↓→ as well so that either can be used without rebinding. Due to this I often forget that WASD is a thing for menus, but after you mentioned it, I was able to play the game for a bit. I really like Birch, seems like an okay guy.
