I don't think it's intentional, because the music from the CAIN LEVEL kept playing, but I guess this could be a cool way to go back and play as Lucy again. However, when I lost to the same kind of enemy in the ... level, The game softlocked. ALSO losing to the blue balls turns you into Lucy in the CAIN LEVEL...
