This is not the source on which Garrys mod runs, it is the unreal engine styled to mimic the source with its limenality, so this is not a bunch of assets, but a game made from nothing, and it is not made by professionals with a large team of developers, but by enthusiasts, hence such a big difference in performance.

About the “Death is near” event I can agree, players who encounter it without knowing what it is often think it's some kind of glitch, and it's not cool tbh, so it seems to me that there should be something that explains what to do in such a situation, perhaps more detailed messages from arirals.

But about the tutorial I strongly disagree, it seems to me that to literally lead players by the hand showing all the game mechanics and features is bullshit, then what is left for the player to do in the game itself? to follow the instructions? Isn't it more appealing to spend 15 days at the base doing different things, after which you'll think “Oh, what a dump this is, is it a research complex or what? I should clean it up, I think I saw some garbage bags at the store...”?

1 - I know this is not Source. And this graphics are far away from source, more likeable goldsrc. Yes, this team or one dev made this game, but theres so many versions, and no optimization. And graphics is so... so laggy because you can launch it on AMD videocard with Catalyst drivers and all will work, and you can try to launch this game with Adrenaline drivers and some things will not work. How about NVidia? On some graphics card poster map will not work on some GT/GTX XXX M series.

2 - Yes.

3 - Yes, tutorial have some useless things, i think dev can made more useful tutorial with some interesting things.

Having played more than 400 hours since the release of 0.7.0b3 on my computer with rx470 I have not encountered any problems in the game, except that after 80-90 days, around the base becomes so many mushrooms that fps becomes unplayable.

Also I played in several PC clubs, and from several computers of my friends personally, and although the game sessions are not long, but on gtx 960, gtx 760, rx6500xt, gtx 1060, gtx 1660s, rtx 2060, rtx 3050 I did not notice any problems, except for the bug with screen resolution on monitors with 2-4k resolution, which I think promised to fix in packnout 0.7.1/0.8.

I do not think that the problem with the optimization is so bad, and as I think the errors in it is very few, but there are moments that still need to be improved as textures during bad sun event, boulder textures in the cave and some other places that do not have collision, which I think the pointing of the finger is not necessary, because these are obvious problems that I think the author will deal with in the future.
