pc gets turned off because you choose 2. Hold option probably
and to place stuff down you press alt + r, nvidia or some other overlays break this so like turn them off or something

Yea, I Know about PC, but the main reason why this is happening, because when I'm browsing items/upgrades with mouse wheel, interaction menu still works and selection fluctuates between 1 and 2, so I'm forced to always press 1 before entering the PC.
About ALT + R... well, this is one of the most counterintuitive hotkeys in this game, because I'm learning about it just now and not in 20+ hours of my gameplay
