My feedback for Arachno Escape:

What your game does well:

Your game executes the theme all the way to the end where the arachnid decides to implode the human it's in. On that point also the game's plot is very comical.

The game also has variety in what the player must do. You took advantage of an arachnid's traits and presented different segments, like descending a web or crawling on the background.

What your game doesn't do well:

While the art is well-illustrated, it was unclear at times what in the foreground was solid and what was simply aesthetic choice. There were two instances where this caught me off guard:

  1. It wasn't clear that the gums are a bottomless pit because they blend nicely with the teeth and tongue.
  2. The tails of the fish skeletons; it isn't clear when the platform ends even when there are rolling plaque balls.

Areas of Opportunity:

I think this is a solid first game. My first game was a square sprite going back and forth on the screen with a default Unity-blue background. I'd love to see more elements that combine the setting with the character, like segments with web-weaving, or even swinging and capturing bacteria-prey.

As for the art, it's simply a matter of increasing the contrast between solid ground and aesthetic. Scene lighting is one solution that might help, as it can blur the background a bit and bring the platform to focus.

I hope this feedback helps! Keep me updated on your progress.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! I agree that I didn't put much effort into making well defined colliders. I'll definitely keep your feedback in mind for future projects. thanks again !!
