I also wasn't sure how to play. Pressing a/d would change the direction the sprite faces, but didn't move me. Let me know what I'm missing and I'll come give it another go!
thanks for playing, yes it doesn't move if you just press A/D , you need to hold the touch, same for Space
Aha! I can now move and lift a block above my head to sacrifice to the claw. The claw didn't come back down for another try, so I guess I win for now.
