After searching through this Jam's games with the "Random" filter, this is a welcome surprise. I was confused at first since I pressed A then died immediately but then I understood the assignment I beat it with a total time of 2:00.226 and 71/102 gears. Also my brain thought the gears were obstacles.

Since I actually enjoyed this experience, I will issue some criticism. I think you saw the idea of a rougelike and took the wrong lesson from it. There's a reason why things in that genre are often randomized: because doing the same thing over and over again is fun with some *variance*. I think randomizing the location of the gears each time would make it more fun, although it would mean removing the "fairness" from time attacking it but i think that's a worthy trade off. Anyway, fun game. much enjoyed.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah I've heard from one of the two who playtested the game that they thought the gears were obstacles at first too, I think I should have made that clearer, maybe even by making them unavoidable at the start. Randomness could be good but also if the game was a series of preset levels people could compare each other's times, that was my thinking at least.

Thanks for leaving a review!
