I like the aesthetic and general idea. Reminds me of like a kid-themed Gauntlet or Adventure or something. Could use some music. Nice job!

Thanks! First time doing game dev and it was fun. Lua wasn't too hard to learn but I'm planning on doing another project with pico-8 since the fantasy-console idea is pretty cool (got a RPI3 just for this reason). Didn't have time to add music since I was away for vacation and I'm treating this game as a stepping stone of what I could achieve.
Your game looks fun; I'm about to try that out!
