Yes, the trash puzzle is the "final boss" of the game :) For the only four things you can pick up at the beginning, without needing other items, since the key and the milk seemed obvious, the mask and hammer were placed among many non-interactive objects - which may have been too effective! 😅
The "simple program" gag was born out of frustration with how simple programs have often been the ones that make our computer crash. There's another, more exciting way to crash the computer in the game, inspired by how I liked to force glitches in old games like Streets of Sim City by going as far out past the border of the game map as possible, till the skybox looked warped and the sun smeared out in a jagged line... 😊
