You weren't cheating, that mechanic was intended and we would like to make more puzzles with that in mind! But it's true that the player had maybe too much freedom to complete the levels because the resize is too powerful.
It's nice to hear you've enjoyed our game! We plan to keep making levels and to polish the existing ones, even adding more cool things. So if you're interested we will update it soon :)
