Nice little game, found the controls a bit fiddly at first (the jump especially), but got it eventually. Missing the "pickaxe" a bit, but perhaps it turns up later in the game? Really nice work though, will be coming back to this :)
Yeah, taking a page out of Mario, you can only get an ax in castles. Of which there ended up being only one, but you can keep it into new games.
I can confirm there's an axe in it!
