After talking to the Ghost Kid you could find the locket by investigating the top part of the dumpster on Bachmann street. (The top right corner of the town.) Once you return it to the kid that will at least get you one more ending, and unlock more ghosts to talk to! (red circles on the map). Let me know if you want to know anything else!
