I dislike the fact that steam requires the online access. Worst part is there's a huge portion of steam games that are designed for windows 7 and below that can't be accessed by the machines they were developed for due to the client not supporting them anymore. If you look on the Mac side almost all x86 games are removed entirely and the launcher only supports Catalina and higher. There's games from as recent as 2016-2018 turning up on abandonware sites continuously at the moment.
