that's a "ui/intel" mod you have issue, not related to improved map mod
oh, i eat my words, Improved map Mod DOES give you white squares instead of Mortar houses on map now.I thought it was one of my map icons mod, my bad to assume it was because of it, but actually both do cause problems with the new mortar house icon!
If you are using my red icons mod, please update it to the latest version that addresses these issues.
