Thank you for asking. Just to make sure, are you referring to the Samsung Galaxy A50?

I'm sorry to tell you, but the A50 is missing support for Depth API in ARcore, which this currently depends on. Depth API is needed to gauge the distance from the device to the surface that the camera is pointed at.

You can see a list of the supported features based on device here:
ARCore supported devices  |  Google for Developers

Any device that supports Depth API should work, but I can't guarantee it, without testing the specific devices.

I will address this in the future by seeing if I can find an alternate approach or if I will need to add an error message, indicating that the device is not supported.

thank you for awnsering, can`t you use the ar app from samsung a50? its pre installed on my phone and works like a cheap vr knock off

What is the app called? I have been trying to look it up, but I can't seem to find a clear answer.

the app is called AR-ZONE. Here https://samsung-ar-zone.de.uptodown.com/android you can also just search ar- zone samsung

Thanks for the clarification!

Unfortunately, AR-ZONE does not appear to be a platform for developers.

I searched for the following:

"developing content for samsung ar-zone"

"custom content for samsung ar-zone"

"samsung ar-zone sdk"

"adding your own animations to samsung ar-zone"

And nothing relevant came up. The only search results I got was related to customizing the emoji character.

its okay was just thinking because in the earlier years of gaming (before 2014) it was so much better with open source things. now its just pay us money to use it or such dumb stiff. i find it nice what you are trying to do, keep up the good work and good customer replies XD

I can definitely relate to your frustration. This is especially true in the VR industry, where pretty much all of it is locked behind pay walls. I much more believe in a healthy balance.

Thank you for the wishes, and I hope you will be able to try it out in the future!
