To me this is the standout underdog of the jam by a longshot. The fact you made this in five hours is pretty astonishing, and it's an absolutely addicting concept. It absolutely would make a fantastic hypercasual mobile game, and I hope you follow through with it.

I think from the stream I already outlined my basic thoughts, but these are definitely what I think you need to really drive it home::

  • It is annoying that you have to "pass" coins to collect them. Maybe it is intentional (I think you said it wasn't) but it's a bummer when you JUST barely grab that last coin with one valid move left but it doesn't count because you don't have any more spaces to move.
  • It definitely needs some kind of win-lose condition and some kind of screen that clearly let's you know when you beat a level or you ran out of time and game-overed (or even just some kind of jingle might work).
  • A small countdown might help at the start of the level to prevent you dying when it immediately starts. That, or maybe the countdown doesn't start until the player makes the first move.
  • Like the other person said, there are a lot of times when the level generates impossible levels so figuring out an algorithm to make sure 100% of the levels are winnable would be important if you want this kind of infinite random casual game.

I think if you can carry through and add a little polish, this is gonna be a game people potentially obsess about like Candy Crush or Flappy Bird or something. It has a ton of potential despite (or maybe because) it being so simple
